EMILY ILAND, M.A.

BE SAFE is the first film produced by Camino Cinema, founded by Emily Iland, M.A. Emily is an award-winning author, researcher and leader in the autism field. As the mother of a young man with ASD and as an advocate assisting hundreds of families, she brings experience and insight to her work, with a special focus on safety. This project has been a dream for many years, evolving from a long-standing partnership between Emily, law enforcement professionals, and the autism community. JOEY TRAVOLTA

Joey Travolta is an actor, producer, director and writer. Before he made it on the big screen, Joey worked as a special education teacher in New Jersey. Today, Joey merges his passion for working with individuals with special needs with film by creating workshops and camps that educate students about film making. Joey’s unique teaching style and expertise enables those with special needs alongside their typically developing peers to learn about production and their own creativity. Once a side project to his feature films, Joey has cultivated Inclusion Films into a growing network of programs supporting individuals with special needs—his greatest professional achievement thus far.

TORI FRITZ, NARRATOR

Tori Fritz, the BE SAFE Narrator, has a strong personal connection to the film. She has an adult brother with Intellectual Disability, and understood the importance of the messages and methods behind BE SAFE. Tori kept her brother in mind as she delivered each valuable message of safety, making her role even more sincere and credible. When filming ended, Tori shared that she realized she was not just making a movie, she was making a difference!.

Students in a 20-week workshop make a short film, from pre- to post-production. They work with professional production crews and mentors, writing scripts, building sets, and using film and editing equipment, with the goal of future employment in the entertainment industry. Inclusion Films students work hard and are extremely dedicated.
